If you want to have breakfast in the city of Cologne, I can only recommend the Café Riese. I have had breakfast here for many years and this café was also the first port of call on my last visit to Cologne. Service always very brisk, the plate well filled. We are only increasingly annoyed by the beggars, who are increasingly part of the cityscape and who really annoy guests - sometimes by the same people several times. Here, a little more partitioning would have to be done by the staff or the regulatory office.

Coffee is good, I had nothing more. The service is so-so. Would have to wait a long time to be able to order.

As expected, prices are in the main tourist flow, but still affordable. The main reason for only 3 stars was the poor service. It took me 5 tries to get the waiter to bring up the menu. The coffee was fine and the waffles were a bit sticky. All in all, a good place to put your feet up after shopping, but you have to expect that it will take an age to be served.

We were here today and each of us got an ice cream cup to take with us because there was no free table. Just as we were about to leave, a table became free and we decided to sit down and order coffee and a latte with the ice cream sundae. When the waitress came to the table, she didn't ask us if we still wanted to order something, instead she said in a rather unfriendly way (exact wording) "two minutes, then you have to go because you have a mug to take away!" You repeated this several times to get us to leave. Instead of staying and drinking coffee, we got up and left. I will definitely not come or recommend the Cafe Riese anymore! The ice cream was okay, but the service was underground, so not again.

The food was amazing the scrumble eggs should have more salt and pepper. One of the waitress was really exhausted and mean when we were going to pay. She said we couldn't pay with card under 10€ and then it was more than 10€ and she didn't let us pay with card. Really rude and impolite.

Nice traditional café with upscale furnishings. Super friendly and courteous service. A huge range of baked goods, cakes, chocolates and hot drinks. I find the price-performance ratio okay, since it all looks a bit upscale. The ice chip cake is also almost unbeatable. Everything looks clean and tidy. Glad to recommend.

In the entrance area, coming from Neumarkt, in the entrance area of ​​the passage you will find places in the café. In winter it can be drafty in some places. Good cappuccino and cake. A lovely pastry and coffee shop conveniently located in the heart of Cologne's busy shopping centre. Great for a quick stop while shopping or sightseeing. Reasonably priced with a variety of sweets, pastries and sandwiches.

Bad service. Waitress very rude. Cake not very tastefull.

The cakes and coffee were good but the service was terrible. The waiter serving the outdoor tables was very unprofessional and rude. He was telling seated clients to "move move" so that it makes it easier for him to walk around tables. Another disgusting practice was that I have been presented with the bill when we were still half way through our coffee and cakes. We haven't finished yet and I have never asked for the bill.The waiter just remained at the table, and would not leave until we have paid him! No please or thank you! Shame; the coffee shop is very nice and the cakes are very good but we would avoid because of the very poor customer service!
